“There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your fellow Israelites who are poor and needy in your land.” (Deuteronomy 15:11)

The Bible does not just ASK us to open our hands to those who need help, but it COMMANDS us. If you’re helping these children, you are fulfilling the will of God! God is using you right now to love these children even in the hardest of places. In the middle of your uncertainty and your weariness, God still commands you to push forward.

We all know it won’t be easy. The implications of following the commandments of God are a life of pain on our Earthly bodies. Doing what’s right in general is almost never easy. However, God also promises the light at the end of the tunnel. In the end, Jesus ultimately wins.

In the end, YOU will win! God makes ALL things good for those who love him. When you are serving the call of God, no matter what goes wrong he will work it for good. That includes the fractured story from which your foster kids most likely came from. Maybe the ‘good’ that comes from this family’s situation is you!

“The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all.” (Psalm 103:19)

In the ultimate end, God is above everything. He is in control over whatever situation you are in. He is in control of the good AND the bad. If you’re going through a rough time, remember that God has you in his hands. Don’t stress. Let your mind sit back and let God take the wheel. You have nothing to fear!
